About Us
Russell Williams began when Physiotherapist Dianne Bright and Exercise Specialist Vanessa Williams-Henke, as health professionals, became frustrated at treating the injured worker on the Workers Compensation cycle.
In 1996 Dianne Bright was a Physiotherapist treating injured workers while completing her Masters in Health Science, Majoring in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy. It was through this study that Dianne began looking at the person as a whole, not just an injured back or neck.
Vanessa Williams-Henke was the Manager of Corporate Wellness Facilities at Johnson & Johnson Pacific, CSR Sugar and Cenovis Faulding. Vanessa was rehabilitating the injured worker in a gym environment, while also furthering her studies as an Exercise Specialist in the United States.
Together, Dianne and Vanessa identified that the missing link in the Worker’s Compensation equation was getting the injured worker musculoskeletally and biomechanically aligned for their specific job task. They recognised that every workplace is different so educating the worker in their specific job tasks was the way to reduce or eliminate injuries in the work environment.
Together they became committed to finding a new path in Occupational Health and Safety that challenged the status quo. As a result Russell Williams became an industry leader by creating a system that aimed to prevent injury in the workplace, which would have the flow down effect of saving employers hundreds of thousands of dollars in potential worker’s compensation claims. This saving was in addition to avoiding the disruption that occurs when well trained and skilled workers are unable to continue in their roles for even a short period of time.
The result of this journey is The Posture @ Work 4 CD Total Injury Prevention Program. The Posture @ Work Total Injury Prevention Program looks at the person as a whole and empowers them with the physical skills and behavioural changes to prevent injuries from occurring.
With more than 35 years combined experience in Health and Wellness, Russell Williams have the skill and expertise to lead you through the process of creating positive cultural change in your company or industry.
At Russell Williams, the Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation Professionals, we know that "prevention is better than cure".
